DESCRIPTION:Festival Castel dei Mondi \n\n\n\nAndria\, Italy \n\n\n\nFestival Castel dei Mondi will host the sound installation \n\n\n\nSymphony Natura Op. 170 by Henning Christiansen \n\n\n\nFestival Castel dei Mondi is a non-profit international festival dedicated to contemporary \n\n\n\nperforming arts and interdisciplinary artistic practices\, taking place in Andria and presenting a \n\n\n\nprogramme of performances\, music\, installations and other artistic projects. Further information \n\n\n\nabout the festival and its programme can be found at: https://casteldeimondi.com/. \n\n\n\nWe are pleased to welcome the Henning Christiansen Archive to Andria in September 2026 for the \n\n\n\npresentation of the re-enactment of Symphony Natura. The sound installation will be open to the \n\n\n\npublic on 12 and 13 September 2026 as part of the festival programme. \n\n\n\nOriginally conceived and realised by Henning Christiansen in 1985 at the Zoo di Roma\, Symphony \n\n\n\nNatura transforms animal recordings\, electronic sounds and instrumental material into a spatial \n\n\n\ncomposition\, in which the listening experience unfolds through the movement of sound within a \n\n\n\nspecific environment. \n\n\n\nPresenting Symphony Natura at Festival Castel dei Mondi will extend the work’s ongoing reenactment \n\n\n\ninto a new geographical and institutional context\, while contributing to the Henning \n\n\n\nChristiansen Archive’s continuing research into the work and its first official publication. The \n\n\n\npresentation will offer audiences in Andria an opportunity to encounter Christiansen’s work \n\n\n\nthrough a contemporary activation of its historical sound materials and artistic ideas.
